We all know that we are in the middle of a recession ( or at the end of one) depending in who you listen to. And yes we all know that money is tight and about the dreaded "cuts" and all that.
But is that really a good excuse for sending out men and tippers to literally "dump" tonnes of gravel over the roads? And then ask us to drive over it SLOWLY at 20 mph, under the guise of "it will damage your car" whereas we all know that we are just packing down the gravel for them.
So after days of taxpayers money being spent on literally throwing gravel around what are we left with? Kerbs full of surplus gravel (which i doubt will ever be swept away, messy, pale grey insignificant looking roads, chipped cars, no road markings, and the realisation that yes, the holes are still there underneath it all.
Personally I would have preferred the council to fill the holes and leave well alone - saving the funds until they can afford to do the job properly with genuine tarmac!!!
